Data Sovereignty in the LLM era

When your employee pastes a contract clause, a CRM export or an internal policy into ChatGPT, that data physically leaves your company, your country and your jurisdiction.

What actually happens

  1. Text is sent to provider servers (US, EU, Singapore).
  2. By default, public model providers may use the data for training.
  3. Request logs are kept 30+ days.
  4. They are accessible to provider staff and any regulator of the hosting country.
